Art in manufacturing - Season 8

We’re delighted to be continuing our collaboration with Lewis Jones through his practice Matter at hand, as part of this year’s National Festival of Making and the ongoing Art in Manufacturing programme.

Since beginning his residency with us in 2024, Lewis has been developing Poured Earth, exploring the meeting point between material science, design, and traditional ceramic production. This next phase sees new work produced for Art in Manufacturing Season 8, expanding both the technical and creative possibilities of working with clay and industrial processes at scale.

Our collaboration continues to explore how traditional ceramic expertise and experimental design thinking can come together in new ways — rooted in place, process, and material intelligence. This is an ongoing journey — one that connects studio, factory, and landscape — and we’re proud to be part of shaping what comes next.
