  • At 5 Carlos Place, a six-storey late-Victorian townhouse in Mayfair, architecture and storytelling come together to create a truly immersive experience.

Led by P. Joseph Architects, the transformation of the building reimagines contemporary retail through the lens of domestic life—thoughtfully balancing the restoration of historic fabric with a refined, modern programme. Each space unfolds like a private residence, layered with texture, colour, and carefully curated detail, creating a sense of discovery throughout.

We were proud to contribute to this vision through bespoke terracotta floor tiles—developed in a unique size, colour, and an exceptional 30mm thickness. While terracotta is more commonly used in façades, this application pushes the material in a new direction, combining durability with a richness that complements the building’s Victorian heritage.

The project is a testament to the architects’ sensitivity to craft and materiality, where every element feels considered, permanent, and deeply connected to the character of the space.
